Weight Loss Success Stories: I Lost The Weight And Look Great!
5 years ago I started a journey but I had no idea where I was going to end up. I was 229 pounds and even though I knew I was fat, I wasn’t willing to do anything about it – until the issue was pushed. My sis in law had a baby and she wanted to lose the baby weight so she asked me if I would be willing to lose weight with her. Suprisingly I said yes but since I was married, my husband would need to be a part of this as well. We cut calories and started walking – the weight dropped pretty easily. I then joined a gym and it changed how I viewed exercise and myself. I was talked in to starting a walk/run program. I hated it, I hated running with everything in me but I was determined to run a 5k. So I kept working at it and eventually found myself running a full mile. Well I ran that 5k and a passion was born! I actually loved running, even when it was really hard. I have since run a 25k, many 5k and 10k races and will run a half marathon in February! To me running 10 miles is simply a great way to relax and unwind. I am a much happier person and feel younger and healthier at 40 then I ever did at 20! I have so much more self confidence both from losing weight and running. I enjoy shopping for clothes now, something I hated before. I don’t mind my picture being taken but that wasn’t so 5 years ago. I just love life and appreciate it more now that I am fit and healthy! Side note – my SIL lost all the baby weight plus some and my husband lost 60 pounds 🙂
