My weight problems first developed back when I was in 3rd grade. My sister went away to Virginia for 9 months and I started eating out of boredom and never gave it up.
I’ve struggled with my weight my entire life since! But I found a solution that has really worked for me now finally at 24 years old!

HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
My weight has held me back on so many different levels. I was so self conscious back in school I didn’t even have my first boyfriend until I was 19 years old. My weight always held me back in EVERY aspect of life because I didn’t have any kind of confidence being overweight and I was never happy with myself, so I never took chances on anything.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
I actually wound up in the hospital for dehydration in 2014.. I was barely eating and when I overate I was purging right after so eventually my potassium levels dropped drastically. I spent two weeks hurling on myself calling out sick from work until I couldn’t take it any longer and my roommates drove me to the emergency room.
I stayed at the hospital for 3 days hooked up to an IV and just feeling miserable until the last day. I knew that I had to change my life if I wanted to live the life I knew I deserved.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
There wasn’t a drastic change when I first came home, I was just excited to be able to eat again after that.. I started diving into social media more as a means for motivation. I started following a lot of fitness models and nutritionist for better examples since I used those outlets a lot and I actually came across my upline coach through Instagram shortly there after!
She got me signed up as a coach myself and I fell in love with everything Beachbody! The programs and the coaching opportunity had me drawn in from the start and I fell in love with the programs!
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
I saw results right away with the 21 Day Fix and Shakeology! I lost pounds immediately and was so happy with the program I continued to do it for months after, repeating the rounds! Since starting in November of 2015 I have lost 40 lbs with that program and kept it off and I’m in the best shape of my life now! 220 was my worst weight and 160 is where I’m at now so I’ve lost 60lbs in total, 40lbs since beginning my journey with Beachbody<3
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
It definitely wasn’t always easy though. We actually had a house fire about a month after beginning my journey. It was an incredible set back for me as our whole living room and kitchen was destroyed, along with my portion containers, shakeolgy, and everything I just got to help with my program..
Normally I would’ve fallen off the wagon but having the support from the challenge groups I’m a part of monthly and my upline coach I was back on track in no time and back to achieving my goals! I couldn’t believe how one of the worst times in my life turned out to be so positive and I had so much support.. I don’t think it would have been that way had I not given Beachbody a shot!
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
I knew that I never wanted to give up the coaching opportunity. It didn’t matter what obstacles came my way I knew that I had a vision for helping others with their health and fitness and I truly never want anyone to feel the way that I did before I discovered this.
I feel like this is what I was made to do and spreading health and fitness across the world is an amazing opportunity that ALWAYS keeps me pumped! Not to mention my fit family online who are always loving and supportive so I always have that encouragement to inspire me daily as well!
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
There have been some lulls on my journey but honestly when I see that happening I usually realize I haven’t been as tight with my nutrition or maybe I haven’t been really pushing with my workouts. So when I start to plateau I take a step back, self evaluate and think about how I can do better and what I can change to keep striving towards my goals. YOU have to be the one to lose the weight you can’t blame the world, or problems that life throws at you, or other people, take control and take action towards working for what you want!
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
It mostly all came off throughout the first year of my journey and I’ve been steadily maintaining this weight. I would still like to lose 20-25 more lbs and I actually just quit my full time job thanks to this coaching opportunity as well so I will finally have the time freedom to really focus on my health and nutrition and carve out my body the way I want!
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
HELL YES! Non-scale victories are my favorite I try not to focus on just the scale. My clothes started to fit better I would notice dresses I had to squeeze in before would just slip right on and that was the best feeling in the world! Another game changer on my journey has been personal development! As a coach I was recommended to do personal development daily and it has given me confidence I have never had in my whole life! I had no plans before this opportunity, no college plans, didn’t know what I wanted to do with my life. But now I have plans, ambition, desire, and I know where I’m actually headed!
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I literally worked at McDonalds for 3 years from when I was 16-19 so I kid you not when I say I lived off of fast food. Then I was a barista for two years after that, so I lived off of fast food and sugar. When I wasn’t eating fast food I was probably eating candy or ice cream or something else that’s HORRIBLE for your health. I tried to eat healthy but I had no idea where to start and there were so many things that I was eating that I THOUGHT were healthy or I thought would be better for me but essentially were just as bad and I was stuck in a vicious cycle of losing and then gaining the weight right back due to poor nutritional habits..
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
Before I discovered the Beachbody programs I used to waste $175 a month for my boyfriend and I to have a membership to a local gym here. They are the best gym in AK so they definitely over charge and we were not going there more then 10 times a month so it was truly a waste. When I did go I would crush it and put in 30+ minutes on the stair master and do some weight lifting and usually would leave satisfied but you can’t get results on a few days a month and there was no big desire for me to go to the gym every day. I had no support there. And there was also absolutely no help with nutrition from my gym membership so of course that always fell flat. Don’t get me wrong I loved being active before I played whatever sports I could; basketball, flag football, soccer, and always had a gym class.. I just didn’t have solid nutrition so results would never last.
MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS
- Don’t watch Netflix until you’ve done your workout! I used to get sucked in time and time again and push it off until “tomorrow” time and time again. Get it done first!
- Personal Development, it comes in many ways, shapes, and forms and you are definitely not better than it. I used to think it was cheesy but trust me it could be exactly what you need and help you in more ways then one.
- Meal prep! It takes time and effort and it may seem like a hassle but in the long run it’s going to help you stay on track with your nutrition, save money by not eating out, and also get the right nutrients you need to keep you fueled and focused all day long!
- Hydration! Coming from the lady who went to the hospital for dehydration I am telling you right now you DO NOT want those medical bills. If you hate water like I did, try some infused water flavors. Make it work for you and make it happen before you find yourself hooked up to an IV!
