Speeding Up Your Favorite Tunes Makes Your Workouts Easier! These apps can help…

By  |

l_101226955The faster the tempo, the more you move. A study in the Scandinavian Journal of Medicine & Science in Sports finds that when the tempo of music was increased by only 10 percent (without participants knowing), cyclists went farther and pedaled with more power. They enjoyed the music more as well.

Plenty of research shows that listening to any music, period, will keep you on the treadmill or elliptical longer than going without. But when the tunes are “motivational”—lyrics you find personally inspiring—you will naturally spend more time exercising than if you are listening to music that doesn’t move you.  [Source: Self Magazine]

Tempo Magic lets you speed up or slow down the BPM (Beats Per Minute) of any song on your iPod without messing with the pitch. We won’t ruin your favorite songs with high-pitched chipmunk lyrics or slowed down zombie vocals.

Transformation Tuesday Videos!

Tempo Magic adjusts the music straight from your iPod app – no lengthy uploads or importing required. Just pick your playlist and go.  {kat note:  I have this and LOVE it!}

BeatBurn combines lolo’s exclusive beat-sync technology with guidance from a real  coach, changing the beat of your music to match your pace within a training program specifically designed to take you to the next level without burning you out.

Beat-sync analyzes the BPM (Beats Per Minute) of your music, selects the best songs from your playlist to fit the intensity of your workout, then changes the beat on the fly, perfectly matching your pace.

Why does this matter? How does it help you?

Research shows that music distracts the brain during exercise and faster music causes people to accept and even prefer a greater degree of effort. This means:

• You will work harder without trying (or without even feeling the difference)
• You will get better results from the increased effort
• And most importantly, the time will fly by.
