Weight Loss Before and After: Kimber Sheds 108 Pounds And Find Her Own Kind Of Happily Ever After

NAME : Kimber / BEFORE WEIGHT : 301 / AFTER WEIGHT : 193 / POUNDS LOST : 108

I have always been on the chubby side. Starting around Jr. High. And of course the embarrassment and depression from being overweight only caused me to eat more.

HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?  I was very self conscious of the way I looked and always compared myself to my very skinny friends. I always felt like the “ugly duckling” in the group.

WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?  The moment that made me realize that I had to make a change was when a friend of mine uploaded the picture on the left on Facebook and tagged me in it. As soon as I saw it I immediately burst into tears. I think that was the moment I realized just how big I had gotten. I felt so ashamed. For myself and for my son. I knew I couldn’t live this way anymore.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?  I initially started following the Weight Watchers program. Counting points and walking every evening. I cut out all sugar and sodas ( not an easy task with a teenage son in the household 😪 ).

HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?  It honestly took me a long time to see the results. My friends noticed the results a lot sooner than I did. But I would say I noticed change after about 2 months.

WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?  I suffer from PCOS and my Dr. did tell me that I may have a harder time losing the weight because of the condition. I will admit that was I was nervous but, thankfully, it did not slow me down one bit.

DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?  My son is my biggest motivation. I always keep in mind that he is always watching me. If I can’t be a positive role model in his life then who else does he have to look up to? ( actually look down to, he is 6’0 LOL )

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?  I lost a majority of my weight in 8 months time.

WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?  I was an extremely emotional eater. No mater what I was feeling. Celebrating? Eat! Sad? Eat! It was always my go to. As far back as I can remember I would eat breakfast and would already be thinking about lunch. Food was my crutch.

HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?  The simplest of tasks before seemed to cause me lose my breath. It was embarrassing. Climbing stairs, forget it. Now I look forward to exercising. Don’t get me wrong, I’m no Olympian gold medialist but I want to eventually work my way up to a runner 😉
