WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
When I was a teenager.
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
I had no self esteem and thought I would always be the fat girl. I ate my emotions and before I knew it, I was 27 and 319 lbs.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
I knew that losing weight was harder once you were older and I no longer wanted to be fat, sick, unhealthy and have no energy. I wanted to do so many things that my weight out a barrier on.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I started by walking 5 min a day on a treadmill.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
I started to see them after a few months.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
I am still on my journey, I have 27 left to lose and the hardest part for me is seeing my own progress and not who I used to be.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
I want to give up all the time but I keep going because I feel better and want to live a happy, healthy, long life.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
I have hit plateaus many times. The last one lasted 6 months and as frustrating as it is, I know I have to do this for me.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
I am going on 2.5 years now and I am not “finished”.

Every time I lose a dress size!

I am so active now. I used to lose my breath walking for even a minute and now I crossfit 6 days a week and run 5ks.

- DONT GIVE UP!
- If you feel like eating bad, remind yourself how you will feel afterwards.
- Look at how far you’ve come and not how far you still have to go.
