I started emotional eating as a young child after traumas I faced, I carried on gaining more weight over the years and had a really bad relationship with food. I would binge eat, hate myself for it, make myself sick and then do it all over again the next day.. a completely unhealthy cycle.
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE? I would hate going out to social events and would spend hours getting ready trying on outfits and feel so unhappy. Any form of exercise with anyone I found so embarrassing as I would be so out of breath it would make me so self conscious. So sad thinking about it
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY? Something changed, we got put on the first lockdown due to covid and I told myself if I could ever do it, now is the right time. Time for a healthier happier life. I started calorie counting, enjoying all the food I love as long as it was within my calorie deficit. This was how my journey began
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED? I began calorie counting, enjoying all the food that I loved before as long as I was within my deficit the weight began dropping off. I never deprived myself of anything and made sure I enjoyed all my meals so therefore I never felt like I was dieting! I was changing my lifestyle and becoming healthier and happier! I went for long walks with my dogs and did mini hit work outs every morning! This helped with my mental health so much realized all my endorphins!
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS? People around me started seeing the results after a couple of weeks, it took my about 4 months before I could see them myself even tho by this point I lost 4 stone
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART? A vicious cycle of previous binge eating so emotionally very tough. At the beginning it was hard to allow myself to eat the food I used to without feeling bad. But I have now overcome those feelings.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING? Luckily for me I have been determined since that day when something clicked for me! I love my new healthy lifestyle
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM? Not as of yet, weight loss is slowing down but that’s what happens after loosing 8 stone in 9 months!

DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES? I can wear clothes that I would never of dreamed of wearing, I can climb hills and go to sleep at night without being scared of having a heart attack! I feel so much more confident in everything and so much happier and healthier
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? Binge ate food, I would even skip meals because I would binge on snacks continuously!
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? I am sooo much healthier! I can now walk a hill without feeling like I am going to have a heart attack! I can’t tell you how much better I feel in every possible way
HOW DID YOUR EATING HABITS CHANGE? Counted calories and took each day as it came!

That no matter what weight you are YOU are worthy and equal to everyone else! I wish I felt this when I was my biggest! Do it for YOUR health and YOUR own happiness

- Do not cut out any of your favourite foods, enjoy everything in moderation!
- Don’t ever be hard on yourself if you see the scales haven’t changed! Gaining on the scales could be down to multiple reasons and rarely fat gain from one day of “bad” eating!
