Teen Weight Loss Transformation: Lost over one hundred pounds at 14 years old
I had never been skinny in my life. I went from a chubby child to an even chubbier child and then to an obese teenager. As a kid I never thought about what I ate and what it was and would eventually do to my body.
Everyday I scarfed down fast food in huge quantities, greasy, fried, or filled with sugar. It was an addiction. On top of this I was getting absolutely no exercise. By the time I was 14 I weighed in at 230 pounds. At this point my weight had gotten to me. I was unhappy and very self conscious . I knew that my weight was holding me back from living my life the way I wanted to live it. I knew I had to change to be happy so I did.
I started running everyday, a form of exercise I absolutely despised. Then I changed the way I ate. No more fast food for me. With both of these efforts combined I lost a little over 100 pounds all in my freshman year of highschool. I was elated by my weight loss and now had the confidence to pursue my heldback dreams. In my sophmore year of highschool I pursued my interest in modeling and ended p in the pages of Seventeen magazine. Just this past year now in my junior year of high school I was one of the five finalists for the Seventeen Ford model contest.
A few months later this past February I appeared on the Oprah show sharing my story with all of the Oprah shows viewers. My weight loss has turned me into a completely different person. I no longer hold back on any of my dreams. My next goal is to run the Disney Marathon in January. I soon began to love running after it helped me lose 100 pounds. Losing weight changed my entire life.
I know I will never go back to the way I was. I want to share my story because I want to show other girls my age or anyone really that it is possible to become a new person. I want to show them that anyone can do it without diet pills, surgery, or even a gym membership. I want people to know that they can make their life the way they want it. The way I see it is like this, if someone can lose 100 pounds entirely by themselves what else can they do?
