After I met my husband, I was so happy and in love I gained over 80 lbs in the following years. Clothes never fit right, I didn’t like what I saw when I looked in the mirror.

WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
In June 2017, I was having a girls day out with my best friend. At lunch, I ate so much and wouldn’t stop. We left the restaurant and I literally waddled out and it felt as if my stomach was going burst. I went home, did some research and started my journey.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I called a co-worker who had lost over 100 lbs the year before and got advice. I started weighing and logging all food and kept to a 1200-1350 calorie diet full of veggies, fruits, protein, and good carbs. I also started doing cardio 5 times a week, 20 -35 minutes each time.

HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
It took me 8 months to lose 100 lbs.

DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
My husband was my biggest supporter and fan. He was so encouraging, I never looked back!

WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I ate when I was bored, for fun, for any excuse really. I ate large quantities of all types of food.

HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I can’t believe how much more I can do! Things I couldn’t do months or weeks ago, I can do now. My energy and strength is off the charts since slowly starting to build up cardio.

MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS

  1. Don’t drink your calories.
  2. Don’t eat more fruit than veggies. Make sure you eat lots of veggies throughout the day.
