Lauren Waits began to realize the few pounds a year she was putting on were adding up.
While attending meetings at work to help prevent childhood obesity, she realized she wanted to be a better role model for her children. She weighed 149 pounds
She lost 16 pounds. “Turning down unhealthy foods and choosing to eat right is a daily challenge,” she said. “Now at meetings when lunch is served, I immediately remove the cookie and chips from the lunch, or I fill my plate with salad before adding the meat and starch.”
