HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?  Being overweight affected my health.

WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?  Growing up there were many toughest battles I fought every since I was about 9 and 10 years old. Bullying and suffering from many different illnesses. These were breaking me down in many ways. As I grew up, I was always known as that overweight kid..when was involved in bullying, I was being called way too many names. I was always that fat kid that was hanging around, that was made fun of because of my weight. At the early age of 14, I had developed high blood pressure. I was way to young to have high blood pressure. I really didn’t care of it at that time because I was still young. Then when high school came around. I at least weigh about 315-320. I really wasn’t even worrying about it at that time either.

As further on, my blood pressure had got so rough that the doctors had to prescribe me on some different types of medication. That’s when a light pop on telling me to start eating healthy and change up . I still didn’t listen. As my senior year pass, my blood pressure started to go even even higher. I started developing high cholesterol and I was close to having heart failure. I spent most of my time in hospitals and doctors offices. I was way very young to have this diseases. Many knew I had a full scholarship to play football at Albany State University. I was a person that wanted to make my whole Cottondale community proud and go out and play college football. But I had two choices. Them choices was to play football or get my Health under control.

The choice I had chosen was to get my health right. After I had came back for Albany that bright bulb pop on again and I said to myself ”enough is enough” I weighed a total of 367 pounds nearly 400 pounds. I decided to change my life and started doing better. I founded something else that was great to make the community proud and that was to lose weight and become a healthier person and influence many others to become more healthier. I also came back in attended Chipola College as a full time student.I really didn’t want to give up on schooling. I’m working on getting my degree in Community Health education, another words Health promotion. I had got to the point, I was tired of the medicines that I was taking. I stop taking my blood pressure medicine and started taking this fish oil omega 3 pills. I heard some people say that if you stop taking your blood pressure pill, something horrible gone happen. But as you know and the Bible it says that ” God’s Medicine is the answer to every need. It is life. It is health. It is a power of God and if you put it in your heart and act on it, you will be healed.” it wasn’t only the pills, that save me it was God.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?  Many people wonder how they could lose weight. I get question all the time. ”what I did to lose so much weight? what did I eat? And even what’s my secret?” the answer for them questions is I had exercised daily and burned at least 500-1000 calories each time. It was hard trying to burn that much calories but I never gave up. I worked very hard to achieve the right amount of calories. Also I lifted plenty of weights. Weightlifting is an exercise that burn lots of calories, fats and build muscles. The amount of time I lifted weights was six times a week. Monday through Saturday. The more workouts you do the more calories you’ll burn and the more muscle you’ll gain. I also added jogging and walking in my exercise. These are a good effective cardio exercise.

I at least did 30-45 minutes jogging and walking a day. It really lead me to seeing and having the best results. As some know that jogging burns lots more calories per minute than walking. But walking will burn more fat than running. So I decided to do a little bit of running and a little bit of walking. Lastly I changed my eating habits. I didn’t want to change up but I had too. I swap the fried foods with bake and grilled foods. Chips, candy with vegetables and fruits. and sodas, juices with water. For those that’s interested, my ”tips for losing weight is to have fun doing it, fall in love with it, NEVER GIVE UP!! and NEVER LOSE HOPE!!” At the end, I had to realize, It wasn’t really about losing weight, it was mostly about who I really am. I had to figure that out myself. You never gone get what you want in life, if you don’t work for it. My hope is that my dramatic transformation will help many get inspired to start their own weight-loss journey..

HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?  About 3 months

WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?  Didn’t like taking medication

DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?  Yes At some points I did. Once I first started seeing results, I love it. Since I lose weight, I really know that many people in this world can do the same thing.

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?  About 8 months

WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?  Eating junk foods, high salty foods, Chips, candy, cake, and drinking nothing bout sodas and juices
