Weight Loss Success Story: Faith Changed Her Mindset And Lost 40 Pounds (so far!)
I started gaining weight a little after high school. I began working at Mcdonalds and thats all I ate all day along with unhealthy eating habits. It started because it was very convient for me.

HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
Gaining weight has affected my self-esteem. I hated going out in public , I hated social gatherings , I was so ashamed for friends to see me. Gaining weight has hindered me from doing alot things that I used to love to do.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
I got fed up with my weight on several occasions ..I started many journeys and I would always fail. On October 16, 2017 my life changed forever . I was told I was pre-diabetic and also given a prescription for high blood pressure meds. I also suffered with heavy bleeding due to my weight gain. The dr told me I could always change that by looking into a much healthier lifestyle and becoming more active.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I immediately, threw away all junk foods. I started googling different ideals. Reading and looking over different people journeys and taking notes. I would call my sister Kela Bryant who is A NP & ask for advice . She introduce me to a low carb /high protein diet. A lean meat and a green vegatable. I began meal prepping every sunday, and my dr insisted on walking everyday or 3times a week and thats exactly what I did.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
In the first 2 weeks in my journey I lost my first 13 pounds and that motivated me more to keep striving and reaching for the stars.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
The only challenge I had was changing my mindset. I was a home body I hated going out into public being seen..I had to challenge myself everyday in my mind that when I got off I would go walking…it was a battle but I came out undefeated.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
Some days were harder then others ..but once you set your mind on something anything is possible.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
I havent hit any Plateaus yet

I’m 3 months into my Journey.

I have had so many nonscale victories ..I can even count them all..they are so rewarding.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I loved fast foods, Vegatables to me was the enemy. I could drink a whole 6 packs of sprites and probably eat a whole bag of chips in one setting. I never knew what healthy eating was to be honest
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I was soooo lazy. I hated moving around because I stayed out of breath. Now that i’m more active , I feel so alive I can run,skip dance and just enjoy life more
