I lost 215 pounds! See my before and after weight loss pictures, and read amazing weight loss success stories from real women and their best weight loss diet plans and programs. Motivation to lose weight with walking and inspiration from before and after weightloss pics and photos.I am finally writing this all down in the hopes that if it helps just one person it is all worth it. This is not the easiest thing for me to share.

The picture on the left was taken in 2003 at 350 lbs. The second picture was about my lowest at 135 and where I’ve stayed for the most part.

In a nutshell, I was morbidly obese my entire adult life. I was the fat girl in high school at 175 lbs. By the end of college I was well over 225 lbs. Two children in my mid-twenties and I was still gaining weight. Over 15 years above 300 lbs. Type 2 diabetic, high blood pressure and high cholesterol, back problems, edema problems and more. I could lose weight when I tried to. I lost 90 lbs in 1999, but never made the lifestyle changes necessary to keep it off.
In 2004, my regular doctor who I had been seeing for many years sent me home in tears after a heart-wrenching talk. He told me that I would be lucky to see 55. That I would likely not see both my sons have families of their own. I cried for days. I felt hopeless. What could I do to undo all the years of damage and lengthen my life?
In 2005, at the age of 45, I had gastric banding surgery aka Lapband . I was 322 lbs the day of surgery. In 17 months, I lost 150 lbs and weighed in at 170 lbs. At that point I had major skin removal surgeries that took 15 lbs of excess skin from my belly alone. Lapband did me a service, but it did not teach me how to eat or how to deal with a thinner me. It did not teach me life skills. It also does not work for me like it did for those first few years.

From 2007 until 2010, I battled regain and an extremely messed up metabolism. I had no thyroid issues or anything that would cause it. Merely the fact I’d spent all my life trying to lose weight was enough. My body had become too efficient with the few calories I would give it. In 2010, I was back up to 220lbs and miserable. I ran across a forum online for the HCG diet. I thought if I can just get back to 170lbs I’d be happy. Well I did that and more. I kept setting my goals for a lower and lower weight. I lost 85 lbs on HCG in 3 rounds. I weighed 135 lbs. HCG helped reset my metabolism as well which astounded me

My health issues have all been resolve with my weight loss. I am not required to take any prescription medications. Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol are all resolved and if anything I deal with low blood sugar and low blood pressure now.

During this journey I still have times that I am that fat girl in high school. I still look at myself and see the old me. You don’t erase the mentality of years of obesity just with numbers on the scale. I still battle demons. I’m not perfect. I regain slightly but now instead of the old self talk of “it’s only 10 lbs” over and over until I’m back up to 160 or even 200 lbs, I work my butt off getting it back down. It’s still not easy. I think the fat girl in my head will always keep me in check. I have managed over the years to learn some valuable lessons and changes that work for me to maintain.
Now at the age of 52, I am more active than I have ever been. There are so many more avenues opened up to me in regards to exercise and activities. For years I felt trapped at home, trapped in a body I did not want. One that did not function well enough to be very mobile. Now I can hike, jog, play games with my grandchildren and much more. I look forward to many many more years, and perhaps, being great grandma instead of just grandma and mom.
