Weight Loss Success Stories: I Lost Half My Body Size With Regular Exercise
I gained a lot of weight when I was in college. I wasn’t active, didn’t get a lot of sleep, under a lot of stress and eating on the go! When I hit rock bottom after I graduated somewhere inside of me I had the strength to want to change my life knowing that no one was going to change it for me. I didn’t want to be on any medication to help with the depression so I decided to start going to the gym and exercising. I knew if I wanted to change it wasn’t going to be easy and that this was going to be a lifetime commitment. I needed to not only change my health but my mentality as well, or else my life wasn’t going anywhere.
I started going to the gym and taking Les Mills Body Combat and Body Pump three times a week and eventually working my way up to 5 to 6 days a week. I found those classes to be really motivating and addicting. Now I take all the Les Mills classes! I decided to lose weight slowly so that I would be able to keep it off. I had been through every diet fad out there, and I would lose weight but once I stopped the program I would gain it all back and then more! I decided to just watch what I ate, keep my calories around 1,500 a day and exercise. It really is just about eating healthy and exercising. There is no “diet” or pill. It is a lifestyle change!After 2 years of eating healthy and exercising I went down from a 22 to a 12. I had never been a size 12 and originally that was my goal. I had hit a plateau and knew I needed to up my game so I joined a private gym called CUT Fitness, which is owned my Tamra & Eddie Judge, from the Real Housewives of Orange County. They really focus and care about your goals and in a way you get personal training. I needed that push and training to get where I wanted to be. They offered a new program called Les Mills GRIT. Which is high intensity interval training. Pushes your body to the max and your heart rate. I worked with an official Les Mills trainer from CUT Fitness, Lissa Bankston who helped train and push me to a level I never thought I would be. There were times when I thought; I don’t think I can do this! She would say “YES YOU CAN!” This program helped me break through my plateau and reach a whole new fitness level. I made it to single digit sizes (size 8) and I never imagined that would happen! I am more fit and healthy than I have ever been in my life. It’s not only changed my life but I have never been happier! I continue to work out and train at CUT Fitness on a daily basis. Still continuing my fitness goals for 2014!
