HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE? I was always depressed and eating a lot.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY? I found out my x husband was sleeping with my co-worker.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED? I could only walk a block at first..but then each day I walked a block further.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS? I started changing my eating habits slowly..but I saw real results like a month after starting!
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART? The hardest part was night cravings and not eating everytime my x would cheat. .so instead of looking at him when he cheated. .didn’t come home or was verbally and physically abusive. .I started looking at my two beautiful children and myself and saying..Lord we are worth living for!
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING? Yes, I wanted to give up..but the more weight that came off the more independent I became and the happier my kids were..so I would take them on outings that involved walking and moving and this helped me burn more calories!
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM? Oh yes..I hit plenty…I simply laid off the exercise for a week at a time or changed my routine…for instance. .if I hit the treadmill all week and didn’t get the results I wanted. .I’d switch up and use the elliptical and work other body parts along with the ab lounger!
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT? A year..the slower the better!
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES? Yesss…inches and my mental state changed..and once I lost my weight I realized that my x cheating had nothing to do with me..he had his on issues and I was a door he used to hide them!
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? Oh God..it looks like scraps..I eat smaller portions because I literally shrunk my stomach without surgery! Before I would eat till I could not breath! If I even attempt to over eat my stomach hurts so bad and it comes up no matter where I’m at. So I can’t over eat cause it no longer feels good and I realize I am hurting me!
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? It had trippled..I am a Kindergarten Teacher and started that job in Jan 2014 at 324…yes four months later I am 305!!!! I never sit or stop moving until my kids go home! Then I come home and clean or walk on the treadmill.
MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS
- Drink at least a gallon of water a day your first three months..this cleans your kidneys naturally.
- When you walk hold your stomach in..this retrains the stomach muscles to regain elasticity. .
- If you crave it..eat it and kil the cravings or you will binge and eat the whole cake instead of one slice!
- Try to limit fried foods to three times a week and as your cravings leave you will adapt healthier and better habits!
- Love yourself riteee where you are and even if it takes you til you take your last breath to be healthy and happy don’t stop pushing. ..God wants this for all of us!
