WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY? My turning point to my weight loss journey was seeing the MRI from the near fatal accident I was in. I was diagnosed pre-diabetic, I had sleep apnea and PCOS. Also, after I had my son, I wanted to get healthy before he became a toddler
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED? The first step I took to begin my journey was changing my eating habits
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS? I started to see results about 1 month after beginning my journey
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART? A major challenge I had was the negative thoughts I would have in my head. I was constantly telling myself I wasn’t good enough, and I was going to be obese for the rest of my life.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING? For someone who battled with their weight all their life, I constantly wanted to give up. my WHY, kept me motivated
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM? I hit a few plateaus during my weight loss phase. My WHY was finally strong enough for me to overcome them.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT? 15 months approximately
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES? I had several non-scale victories
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? When I was heavier, I was eating at least six Hershey’s symphony king size chocolate bars about five times per week. I ate a lot of fried greasy and unhealthy starchy foods such as mac and cheese, loaded baked potato soup, and festivals/fried dumplings.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? When I was heavier, I was pretty much immobile. The only exercise I did was, walk to my car to drive to work. Now, I exercise at least three days per week.
