How I Lost It
I shrank my plate size.
I eat dinner on a salad plate to help control my portions. I still have a satisfying meal — a protein, starch, and veggie — but I don’t overeat.
I make holiday substitutions.
My low-cal version of pumpkin pie: A souffle with 1/2 cup canned pumpkin, 3 ounces softened cream cheese, and pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and Splenda to taste. I combine everything with a hand mixer, microwave for one minute, and top with fat-free whipped cream.
I snack on filling foods.
Instead of eating junk, I choose smart between-meal treats, such as two small slices of protein-packed cheese and a cup of water-filled fruit, like strawberries, blueberries, or watermelon.
