Didn’t want to be the “fat mommy”

Learn their workout tips get inspiration! | TheWeighWeWere.comI was tipping the scales at just about 300 pounds and my daughter was getting ready to start school, and I thought about how mean children can be. There are so many minor things that children decided to make fun of others for. There are some that you can’t help, or avoid but there are others that can be fixed.

I didn’t want to be a reason for her to get made fun of, I knew that I was big and obviously people could see that. I would have hated for her to get questions like “Why is your mommy so fat?”
Right after her Kindergarten orientation I decided I had enough of being fat. There was no way I would let her start school with a fat mommy. That was in February of 2011, by the time she started school in August I had lost nearly 70 pounds. She wasn’t starting school with a skinny mommy by any means but at least I was working on it.
I started running and eating better and made a ton of progress. By February 2012 I reached my goal weight of 160 pounds, and have kept it off for almost 2 years now. I try my best to eat as healthy as possible and I workout almost everyday, running has become my new obsession.
On days I feel like I just don’t want to do it anymore I think about all the great things I am doing for my daughter. She like to try and do things like I do, she likes to be strong and workout. Having her look up to me means so much more than I ever thought it would. She is proud of me, and furthermore I am proud of myself.
