WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
After my mom got diagnosed with cancer I no longer had her making me meals everyday so I started eating out a lot.

I started not wanting to hangout with friends and started telling myself I was ugly.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
I had my 2nd son and I saw on the discharge paper work that I was considered severely obese.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
Eating healthy and moving more until I was cleared to workout.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
After I got in the gym I saw a difference in my mood within a week but physically probably a month.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
Staying dedicated. I tend to quit when I don’t see results fast enough.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
I did. ALL THE TIME. but I knew I wasn’t going to get results by doing nothing. I kept going because I knew in time I would see results.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
I have hit plateaus a few times. When I do I change up my diet or workout to kinda shock my body and to get out of the rut.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
I’ve lost 65 lbs since November so 8.5 months.
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
I’ve had many. Being able to fit in old clothes feels great.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I eat very clean. I don’t drink soda. I eat a salad for lunch everyday and I also gave up fast food.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I am so active now. I am always on the go with my kids.
MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS
- Drink water. There’s a reason there are guidelines on how much to eat.
- Get moving. Even if it’s walking at first. That’s better than the guy doing nothing
- Drink green tea. It makes me feel so thin and it taste great.
- Try low carb. It’s not for everyone but it has worked wonders for me.
- Don’t forget to indulge sometimes. It’s important to eat your favorite foods in moderation.
