WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
I believe I started to develop a weight problem when I first got married. At the time I was six months pregnant with my second daughter and the overwhelming excitement and pressure abounded on me as I was not sure in my heart of hearts that I was ready to be a wife and full time mother to two children. My fear manifested into a lifestyle of binge eating out fast food and eating for comfort to hide and mange my anxiety and stress level.
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
Now that I look back on this its most interesting that I played off of the fact of my weight gain as though it were a good thing and listened to people say well if your gaining weight you must be happy and your married and have a man now so you can kinda relax and let yourself go because your not looking for anyone and neither is he so eat drink and be merry! I clung to the media movements of big women are beautiful and curvy and plump is all the better but deep down I knew these were all excused I was using because I knew I could no longer control my eating habits and was struggling miserably to loose all the weight I had gained over those 12 years of marriage. Before I knew it the time had passed by and my self esteem and self confidence were completely out of whack I was on anti depressants and growing more dark and suicidal each day I had to drop out of college I was seeing a chiropractor for the pain attacks I was in my neck and back from having to support all the weight and the stress. I began to believe that i was no longer attractive enough for my husband and began to suggest that I consider other women because I had lost all respect and love for myself.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
The turning point for me was seeing where the weight took me in my mind. It had ruined the way I perceived myself it was a outward manifestation of my inner feeling for myself I didn’t care about me anymore. I pushed my husband , kids, and family away because I felt like a failure. One day I looked around and I was all alone I had no choice but to face who and what I had become and it wa not preety
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I prayed and ask God to forgive me for treating myself this way and for treating those around me who loved me the way I did. Then I took the plan of action which was my forgiveness and I went to work! My path was detox and cleanse along with fasting and prayer for the next nine months.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
I began to experience results immediately.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
My challenges were not actually that but more like motivation because that perspective I had (and perspective is key!) was that I was in the perfect circumstances to make the weight-loss happen being at the bottom alone with no support eliminated all the distractions so I could only hear the TRUTH from God!
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
My vision was given to me divinely by God himself because I prayed for it. I asked for it and I received. Once I saw myself how he showed me in the vision nothing could by any means stop me! I BELIEVED WHAT I KNEW I COULD BE!
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
Never hit a plateau because as long as you constantly renew your mind to new possibilities the outcome is ever-changing with limitless possibilities. All thing are possible to them that BELIEVE! A plateau is nothing more than a wall in your mind that needs to come down so you can envision your next goal your next possibility, your new you, your new life!
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
I lost the weight over the course of about nine months.
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
YES! I was able to go off ALL of my anti -depressants and blood pressure medicine. Lower my cholesterol and avoid diabetes.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
STRESS EATER, EMOTIONAL EATER, FAST FOOD , TAKEOUT, DELIVERY, LOTS OF DINING OUT AND RESTAURANTS, I INDULGED IN EVERYTHING
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
Much or active now I have so much more energy to keep up with my kids! I love to be outdoors and workout outdoors. I enjoy running the most next to the water. I would like to start to dance again and play tennis as well. Before I lost the weight I did these things but did not feel good while I did them. Now I feel great everyday!

- Mind -over Matter
- Eat this not that make healthier choices with everything you put in your mouth ask yourself what will be the outcome of this decision eating is just like life a series of good and bad choices and living out the outcome.
- Buy cute things that you know you were destined to wear! I bought a whole wardrobe for the size I wanted to be glad to say I’m wearing them all now.
- Make your meals colorful full of fruits and veggies to excite all your senses as you eat to get you more full
