12 fresh asparagus spears, woody ends broken off
1 ½ teaspoons olive oil
4 thin slices smoked turkey, each cut lengthwise into 3 strips
12 fresh chive sprigs
sea salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Preheat the oven to 400ºF.
Place the asparagus on a baking sheet, drizzle with the oil, and lightly season with salt and pepper. Wrap a strip of turkey around each asparagus spear, leaving both ends exposed. Tie a chive around the meat to secure and place the asparagus back on the baking sheet. Roast the asparagus until tender, about 12 minutes.
