“Instead of eating frozen meals high in preservatives and sodium, I enjoy fresh, well-balanced meals like seafood quiche, whole-wheat toast and strawberries for breakfast, ” he says. For lunch, a favorite is a chimichanga, made with chicken, fat-free cheese, sour cream and salsa along with a salad. And dinner includes savory choices such as Moroccan steak with curry sauce.

Pruett now weighs 160 pounds. “The weight didn’t fall off immediately, but I felt comfortable knowing that I had a system of exercise and good nutritious food that was going to work for the long term, ” he says.
