Real Weight Loss Success Stories: Tiffany’s 85 Pound Weight Loss Transformation Story

When I was around 8 years old. I wasn’t brought up around health and fitness. My parents were very busy and we ate a lot of prepackaged meals.

NAME : Tiffany

HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?  Definitely never wanted to do anything socially. I avoided a lot of social gatherings. I live 10 minutes from one of the most beautiful beaches in the country and I never went. I never wanted to be seen in public in a bathing suit.

WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?  I was having a really hard time with my feet. My feet hurt so bad. I just thought to myself, I am only 24 years old, how could I let myself get to the point that it hurts to walk? I didn’t want to do anything unless I could sit or lay down. It was really hard.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?  I committed 100% to ZERO junk food from that day forward. I thought to myself, There’s no way I’m ever going to reach my goals unless I make the long term decision to be done. I’ve always had the mindset of “I can’t wait until I’m skinny so I can eat whatever I want”. I realized, that’s soooo wrong. Skinny/fit people don’t eat that! That’s why they look like that! Lol

HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?  30-60 days I noticed. I recorded the entire journey on instagram so that helped to be able to constantly look back on photos and make side by sides to see the changes :). You don’t always see them looking in the mirror day by day.

DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?  Not this time. I was DETERMINED to get there. Nothing was going to get in my way.

DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?  Lots of plateaus for sure. Changing something in my diet until the scale changed. Mostly carby foods. More meats and veggies.

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?  I’m ALMOST at my goal weight and it’s been 21 months 🙂

DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?  Oh my yes. Too many to remember. One of the biggest ones I would say is feeling comfortable in your own skin. I was so insecure, any time I would go out in public and I would hear someone laughing, I always thought they were laughing at me because of my size. That was of the things that made me never want to leave the house. I don’t have that at all any more and it’s such a huge burden of my shoulders. To truly feel comfortable in my body.

WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?  Lots and lots of white flour foods! Breads, pasta, pastries, cookies, etc. Zero veggies.

HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?  I HATED working out in the beginning. It was so emotional for me. I forced myself to do it. I had a hard time breathing, my face would turn so red and I counted down every second like an hour.

  1. Finding healthy low cal foods you love and eating them over and over again until you’re sick of them. Easy to buy a bunch of the same food and know what you’re making each day.
  2. Going to be bed earlier to avoid late night snacking
  3. Creating a weight loss Instagram account to track your progress
  4. Reward yourself with workout clothes
  5. Do not discuss your diet with family or friends. A lot of the times, you will have some negative interference that may throw you off if you’re having a hard time.
