WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?  After having children.

HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?  Walking, getting up and down out of chairs. Couldn’t get out of the floor without help. Couldn’t walk far without having difficulty breathing. Couldn’t shave my legs.

WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?  Te turning point was when I had my first granddaughter. When I couldn’t play with her, I made my mind up the weight had to go.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?  Portion control with food. When I lost about 15 I started walkin which turned into running and I love Zumba.

HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?  About 3 months.

WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?  I have panic issues. I had to over come fear of not be able to lose the weight. Running helped with that.

DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?  I never wanted to give up. I ha to do it for my health and my children and grands. I still don’t want to give up 🙂

DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?  Not yet !

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?  Took me about 1 1/2 years. I at 2 years now and I want to lose about 20 more.

DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?  I only weigh once every 6 months because scales can be of the devil. They fluctuate to much 🙂

WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?  I have never been able to diet. I eat whatever I wanted but only in portion and when I got full I quit eating. No fad diets or diet pills. I drink only water.

HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?  I have run 3 5K’s and am working on a 10k. I able to run now when I could barley walk. I enjoy Zumba which I do about 3x a week. It feels great.

MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS

  1. First and foremost never give up !
  2. Portion control does work. Mind over matter.
  3. Exercise is a big plus. Find what you like to do and do it.
  4. Stop with the carbonation .
  5. Remember you didn’t put it on in one day and you can’t take it off in two days. It’s hard but worth it! Stay strong never give up and once you see results you will love yourself again 🙂
