HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE? I was to embarrassed to be part of anything because I was afraid my weight would make me fail plus I felt like a big joke not a person. I was also tired of being the “fat friend” having guys want me to hook then up with my friends but I was always the “big goofy girl”
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY? After an on again off again relationship with my kids dad (8years) he went to prison so I had a lot of time on my hands and I decided to make a change so I went to school and started losing weight and changing my life.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED? The start was December of 2016 my youngest gave me the flu and I was unable to eat for a few days and after that I was in full gear to eat less and move more!
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS? It was a couple months before I saw physical change bit immediately you feel better.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART? I have a back injury that makes working out hard and some days impossible so I really have to watch what and how much I eat.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING? My secret motivator is my kids dad, we would talk on the phone everyday and since he was working out every day it made me want to work that much harder! we parted ways but I’ll always care for him and he was there for me for so long.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM? No I tried not to ever focus on numbers.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT? 6 months
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES? Almost every victory was a non scale victory because I was more focused on feeling good and healthy rather then a number on a scale.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? A lot less sweets and a lot more veggies and water!
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? About the same due to my back injury.
