WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
I started to develop a weight problem basically as soon as I found out I was pregnant with my first child. I tried to eat healthy but nothing would stay down, and I became depressed and just didn’t care. So I ate whatever I thought would make me feel better. My weight gain started last year around July 2015.
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
My weight started to affect my self esteem, marriage and my social life.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
The turning point was right after my son was born. I couldn’t stand looking at myself so I know it was something that needed to be done.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I couldn’t workout for the first 6-8 weeks because I had a c-section so I just focused strictly on my nutrition. Plus, I wanted to make sure my baby was getting the best nutrition as well since I am breast feeding.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
I started to see results every month.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
The challenges I had to over come was pushing myself to workout and meal prep even when I’m tired or don’t feel like it. It’s definitely a challenge when you have a new born but you just have to tell yourself it’s just one hour.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
It’s a few times I wanted to give up, but I know giving up still wouldn’t make me feel better.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
It have only taken me 4.5 months to loose weight. Now I’m focusing on toning my body and loose the excess skin from my stomach.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I have more energy now and I’m more willing to try new things compared to when I was heavier.
MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS
- Make sure you eat according to portion size.
- Make sure you know how protein to consume based on your weight to maximize muscle gain.
- Eat veggies when you get the crave to eat.
- Just remember it could always be worse. Read other people’s stories to gain motivation and inspiration.
- Progress over perfection
