HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
I was out of breath doing simple tasks such as getting dressed and even zipping my jeans!! Which barely fit.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
I saw the picture of my fiancé proposing and thought wow, I look terrible. That was not how I saw myself. It was a reality check.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I started slow swapping out whole grains for carb loaded foods. We are Italian so we love our pasta and cookies. I then discovered the keto diet and have been in awe of my results week after week.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
I started losing slowly, when I switched to keto (low carb less than 30/day) I saw a dramatic shift in my
Mood, skin, energy, and body mass.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
I had to overcome the big family gatherings with pizza, pasta, and wedding cake tasting! It was a struggle but worth it in the end. I am able to now enjoy my wedding cake!
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
I wanted to give up some days but my fiancé motivated. Even my patients and co workers joined in and got motivated. The whole office eats salads now when we order out!
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
Sometimes I will cheat, which in turn causes a plateau. I keep my eye on the prize and never give up! It’s paid off,

DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
I lost 5 bridal sizes!! My wedding dress was huge! However the end altered result is more beautiful than I ever could have imagined.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
Breakfast: Dunkin donuts crossaint, donut, coffee with sugar and flavored syrup…now: low carb mission tortilla wrap with cheese, turkey bacon
Lunch: Oreos, lunchables, French fries. Now: salads, celery and low carb buffalo chicken dips
Dinner; pizza, pasta, Mac and cheese. Now: grilled salmon, chicken, steak, veggies, keto chips made of cheese- yum
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I walk up the stairs at work. I can also do spin classes which are my guilty pleasure- before it hurt too much to even be on the bike
MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS
- Eat breakfast!! It really is the most important. Low carb high protein will fuel you.
- You can have that pasta in moderation! Swap noodles for zucchini noodles and make home made sauce- avoid the sugary canned version
- Drink lots of water! If you don’t like it- try seltzer. My girls and I make a spritzer. It’s seltzer with a few berries or limes in fancy wine glasses.
- Have a buddy! My fiancé helped me with this- he’s look looking good!
- Find something you can stick too. Just because keto worked for me does not mean it works for everyone, try something you can stick with
