I developed a weight problem after I had my second daughter after having two kids and being married I lost myself in them which I know a lot women do….next thing I know I’m almost 200 lbs because of emotional eating..
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
When I gained almost 200 lbs…I went through severe depression I mean I was the biggest I’ve ever been…I couldn’t get out of bed I couldn’t really play with my kids or be the mom that they truly needed me to be I couldn’t fit any of my clothes I mean I just didn’t feel pretty at all!!! My love life with husband wasn’t the best at all! I didn’t have a lot of energy I procrastinated a lot with exercising especially the food I ate…(which is the main key to being healthy)
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
my turning point was in January 2016 I’ve been going to a personal trainers gym for a year I mean I did lose weight but it was weight that I wanted to lose when I did my before and after pic and saw that I still looked the same after a year I was so disappointed in myself but I knew exactly what the problem was…
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I got started in January of 2016 and I just made up in my mind that I’m not going through this anymore!!! I made up in my mind that I will have self control and self discipline and I stuck with my diet from them on out I started breakfast starting at 7:00am or as soon as I woke up and I didn’t eat dinner until 5:00pm or 6:00pm…and I did not have a cheat day or meal at all I did this for a 4 or 5 months..maybe 6 I was extremely dedicated
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
After I made that decision to diet like that I Started seeing results after a good month but I saw my results I wanted to in 3months
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
I had challenges as in sometimes lack of funds because It does cost a lot to eat correctly but I made a lot of sacrifices and i just did it…
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
I wanted to give up a couple of times!!! Especially the many times I plateau but I just kept telling myself….I have to make my goal I have to do this there was no time for excuses I just kept looking at my before pics and just kept telling myself I gotta keep going..until I reach my goal
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
I hit a lot of plateaus which was so hard!!! But I just thought to myself… what did i do the day before so that I can shock my body I TO doing something different or the different foods that I had had eaten that week or the day before
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
I took me a good 7-8 months to lose the weight and to reach the goal that I wanted
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
Yes I think about everything. That I eat.. I still eat the same way… I just add a little starch or a cheat meal every once in a while but o completely changed my life around to a much healthier lifestyle
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I work out everyday and I teach BOOTCAMP classes now!!! I do have some rest days which I hate sometimes but most of the time I rest on Sundays
MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS
- Always eat 6 times a day and make sure there a great healthy meals and healthy snacks
- Cardio is your best friend some people like to lift weights first but I prefer cardio first
- Always believer in yourself when things are looking rough always remember it’s all in your brain!!!YOU WILL GET PASS IT AND OVERCOME IT!
- Make sure you have a great support because some people including loved are just not going to understand your weight loss journey
- Make sure you at least exercise 3 times out the week
