I was in a crappy relationship with someone who made me feel like I was worthless. I was also going to college so I had the stress of school. That itself was a recipe for disaster.
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE? I was so unhappy and self conscious of my body. I hated everything about my life at that time.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY? My turning point was seeing my graduation photo and being shocked at how much weight I gained in such a short period of time. From that day I decided I was going to change my whole life.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED? I stopped eating fast food 4-5 times a week And started eating clean and healthy foods. I also started exercising 5-6 times a weeks
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS? After the first 3 months I started noticing a huge difference. I lost almost 30 pounds in the first 4-5 months
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART? The only challenge I really faced was being confiendt and believing in myself and that I was worth it.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING? Never! Giving up was never an option for me and once I started seeing results it just made me push farther.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM? I did after the first 30lbs, I had to change up my fitness. I still do I change up my workouts every 6 weeks so my body doesn’t plateaus
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT? Around 1 year and I’ve been able to maintain even after having a baby ( I gained 30lbs) during pregnancy and was able to lose it after 5 months
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES? Just feeling confident and happy in my own skin is pretty amazing. And knowing I’m teaching my son how to live a healthy happy lifestyle
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? Eating out 4-5 times a week. Wendy’s, macdonlds, pizza. And when I ate at home it was mostly fried processed foods.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? Then at 170lbs I was a couch potato, I didn’t exercise at all. Now I exercise 5-6 times a week. I switch it up all the time, cardio, weight training, circuit training. High intensity interval training. I love it all. I feel in love with fitness along the way.
