WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
I have always had a weight problem since I was little, I have never been thin even through school I was a 14-16 pant size. It got really bad after my first child I gained 80 lbs and was 228 lbs and being short 5.2 I was really uncomfortable.. I have done this plan before and was successful with losing. At that time I was able to get to 145-150 lbs but through the years I started gaining again .

HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
How was my life not effected is the question ! The health problems, social acceptance , clothing I wanted to wear , I love swimming and wanting to go with out being looked at funny … the list goes on but you get the point

WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
My turning point was getting diagnosed with GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease ) I literally felt like I was having a heart attack all the time and I knew from what the doctor said changing my diet is key .. And I knew exactly what plan would work for weight loss and to help with GERD

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
After a few days on meds that made me feel ill I just dug out my plan and started the next day !

HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
The first week I was able to drop 8 lbs it was so nice to see the scale move but physically took at least a month for me to see any difference .

WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
My challenges were eating 6 times a day and really having to plan my day around the times I eat .. Also to get moving at first I didnt want to but after a few weeks of walking I started pushing myself to go farther and faster

DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
I always want to give up its such a horrible struggle but I made it this far im not going to let all that hard work go out the door … what really keeps me going is getting others to get on the plan and seeing their results !

DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
I have hit so many I didnt lose a ton of weight but it seems the less you have to lose the longer it takes .. well thats what I keep telling myself 🙂 .. I had a plateau for 18 days I got off plan and had a super free day and didnt work at all took me a week to get off the weight I put on …

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
It has been a year long process! I have taken breaks from my plan and got back on .. I am finally in the maintaining and toning part of my plan

DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
I finally went on a hike I have been dreaming about doing but was always nervous I wouldn’t make it to the top of the mountain .. I made it and have been up 5 times since ! And fitting into a 5-6 ! I have never been so happy!

WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
Clean eating no dairy and no salt and no bread .. before I would greasy fatty food all day long

HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I can go and go and not get winded ! This last year I was walking 4-5 miles a day just waiting for the weather to get nicer out and hit the pavement again

MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS

  1. Find a plan that works for you and your body..and one that you can stick with
  2. Having a support system is really important ..I belong to a group that is on the same plan and its nice to have the extra support
  3. Take before pictures and save that one pair of bigger jean to give yourself those reminders of how far you have come in your journey
  4. Drink your water!
