WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
I have always went up and down in my weight for years. Went from not eating healthy meaning not eating hardly at all. Got very sick all the time but I wanted to be skinny, then went the opposite direction and ate everything in sight probably to make up for not eating for so long to where my weight got a bit out of control. I spoke to a nutritionist who had me eating more times a day just a smaller portion. Then started doing Zumba and that changed my life.
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
I have a daughter so now I have a ton more energy. It promotes a healthy lifestyle for her and she enjoys dancing with me. She doesn’t even realize it’s a workout. To her Mommy and her are just playing and dancing.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
hobestly my self esteem went downhill, I didn’t like the way I looked in pictures, in clothes, just so much attributed to me finding something that I could feasibly manage all while cooking cleaning homework extra activities and find something that was actually fun.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
My results were about 6-8 weeks I noticed firmer muscles, my jeans were sitting a bit looser. And my energy level was up and started noticing a difference in my attitude.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
Lack of time, my job was 2 hours from where I lived so most of the time I was very limited with when I could work out. An at home program was best for me to fit it in.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
Never. I love it. If anything I have excelled even more since this.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?

The weight took me a total of 7 months so far.

WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
Before I would skip meals, didn’t eat breakfast and most of the time made a large dinner. Now I have completely switched. I eat a healthy breakfast mostly my carbs in the morning. Then a snack, then a medium sized lunch, another snack, then a smaller portioned leaner dinner with mainly a meat and veggie. Cut off all foods by 8pm.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS
- Smaller portions
- Don’t skip breakfast
- Limit alcohol, if you’re going to drink be careful of mixers and carbonated beverages
- Cut out all soda and carbonated beverages
- Don’t give up. Results are not instant. Persistence is key!
