WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
I never thought I had a weight problem. Never considered myself big.
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
I’m an asthmatic, but in my younger years, it never had a huge impact on me. I was an athlete in high school and in college.
After tearing my ACL and never rehabbing correctly, I became nonactive. I was that teacher that just sat behind the desk because of shortness of breath.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
My turning point was when a friend of mine pointed out that a bikini I wanted to wear was NOT sexy. LOL. This was back in 2013.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I joined a gym immediately. I wasn’t going on vacation if I looked “a hot mess”. I tried to workout prior to vacation, but no results were evident. I wore the bikini, but wore a cover up with my bikini.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
I honestly did not begin to see results until 2015… I was losing 5lbs a month. Mainly because I had knowledge from my trainer on how to eat healthier and workout.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
I had to get my left knee strong in order to run. Weight training helped me.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
Absolutely not… I looked forward to “sweating”. I enjoyed it too much to give up. Once you start to see the results, you’re motivated to keep going.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
Once focused, I was losing 5lbs a month. Lost total 30lbs in 2015.

WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I ate whatever I wanted, when I wanted.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I’m able to run, NOT walk miles. Before with my asthma and ACL injury, I did not do any physical activity!
