WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
I have been plumpy since grade school. It was never really a problem until college. 1999.
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
Couldn’t tie my shoes. Couldn’t get out of bed. Couldn’t play with my kids. Couldn’t get in a restaurant booth. Couldn’t get out of a car. Couldn’t get into a car. Couldn’t go to a fair and ride the rides. Had to buy different clothes. Had to shop a certain place that carried clothes big enough. Was prescribed several medicines. Developed Diabetes. Developed High Blood Pressure. Couldn’t walk after waking up in the morning. Couldn’t sit in some chairs. Didn’t want to be in public. My vision was bad. Circulation was bad. Sleep was bad during the night. My career was totally affected because of my lack of passion for life and self esteem. I would fall asleep anywhere, especially in the car. I was a non-active father.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
I just decided it was time.

New year resolution.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
3 days. I felt significantly better. 7 days. I was sleeping all night again.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
Food addiction and losing friends.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
No. The way I felt.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
Yes. Started running.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
Scalable results – between month 4 and 8.
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
The entire transformation. Unless you get paid because of how much you weigh…like a Pro Endurance Athlete, does weight really matter? NO. It’s shape and feel, that matter.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
Clean proteins and low to non-sugar carbs.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I am an endurance athlete – not comparable.
