It started at about 5 years old. I had asthma so I was on steroids, and I had hypothyroidism(but we didn’t know it at the time).

HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE? It affected everything in my life, I was always very shy. I believe my weight is the cause of my social anxiety and depression.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY? Negative comment from someone. I was getting bullied in school, but the real “turning point” for me was when my sister in law told me I would never amount to anything because I was so big.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED? I researched what to eat and I came across low carb/keto, that’s what I’ve been doing ever since.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS? About two months in after losing about 40 pounds I could tell a difference in my face.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART? Hypothyroidism(still have it), asthma, and not liking exercise.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING? I wanted to give up many times but the scale kept me motivated.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM? I’ve hit a few plateaus where I wouldn’t lose any weight for about 2-3 weeks, I overcame them by not getting discouraged, I kept up with my routine and eventually started losing again.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT? In a little over 6 months I lost 100 pounds.
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES? Being able to cross my legs, being able to ride rides at fairs, being able to go skydiving, not shopping in the plus size section.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? I was an emotional eater.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER? I did not like working out when I was heavier. Everything is much easier now but I’m still not a fan of it lol. My favorite thing is cardio, just walking.
