WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
I started gaining weight when i was 14 yrs old but mostly after my had my daughter did i really gain weight.
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
It affected me in everyday tasks, from always being tired to having bad knees.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
I had a friend to start a weight loss program at the gym. So i decided to join too and i never looked back. I just was so tired of existing and not living my life.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I started with at my local gym and they got my started on resistance training and cardio. I would go at least 5-6 days a week when i first started.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
I lost around ten lbs a month for the first eight months. It was my goal to lose ten pounds a month.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
I had to learn not to use food for comfort.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
No, if i ever felt like things were not going good i would just look back to where i started and never wanted to be that person again. I would say what keeps going is just to inspire others that they can do this to.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
Yes i just didn’t give up i kept working out and eating healthy.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
I started May 2015 and i have lost 120 pounds. The first eight months i lost 80 lbs it has been slower the past few months. But i see inches are coming off faster with muscle gain.
DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
My diet now is very clean. I eat not fast food or processed foods.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I went from no physical to activity to a hour of cardio a day. I now can jog three miles without stopping where before just to walk a mile was challenging.

- Be consistent with your diet and exercise
- Take one day at a time
- Always take before and after pics they will keep you motivated.
