My whole life I’ve gone up and down in weight. My grandpa payed me $20 to lose 10 pounds at the age of 10.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
The day I looked in my side view mirror in my car and didn’t recognize myself. My body was at maximum weight.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
Started my journey to the gastric sleeve in December 2014 and had surgery December 2015.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
Started a high protein/low carb diet from my doctor. After about 7 days I could feel my clothes were looser.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
Goal clothes keep me going.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?

Being able to fit into Victoria Secret Pink clothes. I was never able to wear them. Walked in and a store employee told me to try a medium. Fit perfectly.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
Two protein shakes, chicken or fish, more vegetables and a little fruit. Before I practically lived off of drive-thru food.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
Now I run around with my kid, walk at least 15,000 steps a day.
MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS
- Protein drinks fill you up.
- Floor exercises while watching tv.
- Cooking two meals at dinner is ridiculous but I still do it. Sometimes they eat what I do such as turkey tacos.
