NAME : Amanda
BEFORE WEIGHT : 267
AFTER WEIGHT : 187
POUNDS LOST : 80

WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
I’ve been overweight my entire life. I came from a poor background and nutrition wasn’t a requirement, the fact that you were fed was and usually it was cheap, processed, no good for you foods.

HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
I’ve always had confidence issues. I was always the big friend, the one who always went on the group dates and watched other happiness and how they socialized and interacted but I couldn’t myself.

WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
I met my husband 5 years ago and had my daughter 3. We are a blended family , being he has 2 sons previously and they changed my life. Knowing I need to be here for them showed me I couldn’t be that mom not playing on the playground, the mom who wasnt able to go to go out and the yard and just ride bikes, that wasn’t me.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I started April 2015 and took off from there. I owe alot of my initial success to Leslie Sansone and her walk at home dvds. I was to embarrassed to go to a gym but in my living room she boosted my confidence and helped drop the first 40 pounds!

HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
It took me about 3 months to finally feel and see the changes. People around me noticed more quickly but I still saw the same person in the mirror.

WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
I’ve had to do this alone. Up until January of this year, not one single person helped or pushed. Ive learned you have got to do this alone sometimes because it’s your body and change has to happen regardless.

DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
Never. Once you see results, you’re an addict. I’ll never look back.

DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
I’m actually smack in the middle of a plateau. I’ve been switching routines and upping my water intake and am hopeful for changes!

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
Majority of it came off in the first 9 months.

DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
I went from a size 22 Jean size to a happy size 10! Also was wearing size 2x shirts and am between a small/medium depending on the brand!

WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I don’t drink sodas and have processed food like I would before. Instead of a cereal bar and pepsi for breakfast it’s more like water and a smoothie, sometimes coffee too. 🙂

HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I had little to no physical activity before being a stay at home mom. Now I go to the gym 5-6x a week for atleast an hour a morning.
