Before Weight: 140
How I gained it: It all went downhill when I walked onto my college campus. I had always been active enough to keep my southern eating habits from showing on my body, but when I went to school and roomed with an athlete who could eat anything and everything, I couldn’t keep myself together. In just one semester, I went from a size 2/4 to a size 8.
Breaking point: I remember going shopping with my mom for new clothes and crying in the dressing room. It was even worse when my bra size went from a 34B to a D cup. It was embarrassing. When I was reminded of my one-time fit lifestyle and size 4 figure, I started focusing and obsessing over it. I stopped eating and started exercising way too much. Sure I lost the weight, but I was sad, never satisfied and hiding my secrets.
How I lost it: I couldn’t hide from everyone, and my best friend finally told my parents. With their help, I pushed my way to a healthier lifestyle. Instead of eating less, I started eating more meals of just better food. I looked more alive than I had looked in months, and I felt more energized. Things only got better from there. Sure I worked out, but I didn’t know the right way to work out, so I was thin, but I wasn’t toned like I wanted. My boyfriend dared me to lift weights one day and from then on, I was hooked! I had transformed my life from a fat chick to a sick exercise-obsessed girl, to a healthy, fit and toned woman. I loved seeing my body grow and glow! I had more energy than ever, and I went from a size 2 to a size 2/4 toned, lean and muscular figure. This was my life, and I wanted to share the real ways to get fit with other women.
So what did I do next? I became a women’s fitness trainer and also a gymnastics coach working with young girls to stay fit and healthy. I love it. My boyfriend Dan and I even created an all women’s training site: The Art of Weight Lifting.
After Weight: 110
Taylorhas maintained her weight loss for a year and a half.
