I had my ‘Aha’ moment after having my daughter in 2010. I had gained 70 pounds and was borderline diabetic and my blood pressure was at stroke level. The worst part about all of this was that I was 24 years old and weighed 200 pounds at only 5’2. I decided that I had to change for the good of my family and myself. My child needed a strong mother with lots of energy to play with her. I started with changing my mind set. I didn’t want to focus on all the things I couldn’t eat but all the things that I COULD eat. I started following a Clean Eating, Paelo food blog which provided me with lots of recipes and motivation. I found strength and inspiration within myself to not give up on what I truly wanted. I started exercising at home while my baby napped. I would pop in a Jillian Michael’s DVD and at first I could only make it half way through and then after a little while I was making it longer and longer until I could finish the full workout. Now I high intensity circuit train 5 days a week. I have lost 85 pounds since I started going from 200lbs to 115lbs. I am so happy with my accomplishment that I now run a facebook group for women and moms called FitMom trying to inspire and help others accomplish their own weight loss goals.
