Great success story! Read before and after fitness transformation stories from women and men who hit weight loss goals and got THAT BODY with training and meal prep. Find inspiration, motivation, and workout tips | Instagram and weightlossMy name is Jennifer, I am a 29 year old wife, mother to a little boy with autism, and have lost over 120 pounds in 17 months with no surgery, pills, shakes, wraps or any other tricks.

I have always struggled with my weight. I can remember being around 6 years old weighing myself and being very unhappy with the number. I was around 160 pounds as a pre teen.. and topped 270 as a 15 year old wearing a size 24 pants.

When I was 19 I lost a lot of weight from Atkins. In 6 months I went from a size 18 to a size 8. I never really noticed how much weight I had lost and still felt big even then. It was a very fast process but one I did not know how to transition into every day life.. life after Atkins was very hard for me. I gained back all the weight plus some within two years.

By the time I got pregnant with my son I was around 240 lbs. The day I delivered him I was 304 lbs. Even then I did not feel the urge to lose the weight. I had tried several times over the years and quickly lost motivation and quit. Every try was a “diet” and it felt like torture.

My son was around 2 when we discovered he had autism and we kept up life as usual but I was stress eating more than ever and not doing myself any favors. Last June both me and my husband decided to change our lifestyle.. no more diets. We had to overhaul.

I was having severe health issues. My feet were going numb, I was always out of breath, I couldn’t play with my son and it was a safety issue too because since he has autism simply yelling stop didn’t always work and it was very hard for me to keep up with him. I was seeing stars, having headaches and chest pains, my heart was beating funny and at night I felt myself not breathing as I was trying to sleep. I was terrified I was going to die and not be there for my husband and son.

I stepped on the scale on June 25th 2012 and saw 288 lbs. I was shocked I thought at the most I would weigh around 260.

I began with cutting out all fast food (I was addicted), cutting out all soda (diet too), and not eating processed foods. I was trying out a method of eating called eating clean. I also began to walk.. as fast as I could and it took me about 30 minutes to walk one mile. I was out of breath my legs were shaking and my lungs were burning but it was better feeling than the pain of no longer trying.

By September I had lost 45 lbs and was feeling great. We started doing Insanity. It was HARD!! I had never been so physically active in my life. AT this time I also had began to use Instagram as a tool for my weightloss to stay motivated. I was finding other women going through the same struggles as me, sharing their victories in pictures and brief stories. It was very very inspiring and kept me accountable to work out. I would post every workout I did and the feedback was always positive.

In December I did the unthinkable.. I ran my first mile without stopping! I never thought I would be able to do that. Just months before I couldn’t walk fast. I felt incredible and my determination was stronger than ever. My husband was sailing right along too and was down around 45 lbs!! Our son was getting to finally experience healthy and active parents that could truly play with him the way he deserved.

In March another milestone.. I crossed into what we call in weightloss land ONEderland.. I was 197 pounds and never felt better in my life. I never thought I would see a 1 in front of my weight again. My followers on instagram had picked up to over 2,000 and I was gaining so much confidence from their support and meeting all kinds of wonderful people.

Today I am 165 pounds, down a total of 123 pounds in 17 months. I have become a runner able to run a mile in under 9 minutes. I continue to eat clean 75% of the time, I have done a total of 5 rounds of Insanity, and I am still working towards my goal weight of 155 pounds. I never thought I would get this far. I know without a doubt if it had not been for Instagram and my now almost 5,000 followers cheering me along I wouldn’t be where I am today.
