WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
I had a routine doctor’s appointment in 2014 and my doctor weighed me twice, which was kind of embarrassing. He got straight to the point and said “you need to lose weight”. I didn’t begin losing weight right away. His words seemed to make me angry, but not angry enough to make change. During my next appointment he told me I was prediabetic, at risk for heart disease, etc all because of my weight. Well, July 24th of 2014 I was given a surprise birthday party and it was an amazing day with family and friends. That night, as I was scrolling through social media, I saw many, many pictures of my party and I was shocked! I honestly didn’t even recognize myself at first. I didn’t realize until that night how big I actually had become. I decided that night to take my doctors advice, well orders really, and lose the weight. It has been a struggle for sure since I had to learn how to be “healthy”. I am down 75 lbs. so far and I am proud of my success. The journey to a healthier me isn’t easy, but its worth it! I’m worth it!
