WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?

I’ve always been obese as a baby as a child as an adolescent as a teen and as an adult ! At age 10 I Wheda 180 pounds and wore a size 16 it only got worse as the years went on my highest weight was 320 pounds and I wore a size 48 men’s pants

HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
My weight caused me to go into a deep depression for most of my life I didn’t even know I was depressed it became normal for me I ate for every reason under the sun I never allowed myself to even feel hungry I just constantly ate . I was afraid to even have the feeling of hunger !

WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
My weight loss journey probably start it when I was 16 years old when I got into high school and I realized once I met a good friend that I had a partner to lose weight with and I was very successful but the weight did not stay off forever three children later married and severely depressed I was back at 320 pounds

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I hit rock bottom I hated myself I didn’t want to live anymore and I was having suicidal thoughts and that scared me I went to the doctor and they put me on depression medication and my doctor told me about take shape for life and Medifast Coach

HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
I recently started take shape for life which is the coaching program with Medifast Coach I’ve lost 60 pounds in the last six months and that really Excelerator did my weight loss success

WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
The challenges are the emotional eating and the mental process of the food addiction that goes through your mind I’ve been in counseling for the last year and only once I’ve started to deal with the inside thoughts in the process of my mental strategies about eating once I conquered that the weight on the outside begin to fall off

DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
Yes I’ve wanted to give up but the feeling of success in the feeling of the discipline can be addictive when people start noticing and giving you compliments and we’re encouraging you to keep going that’s the best for me

DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
Every month I hit a weight loss plateau I just continue to take one day at a time and just focus on what I’m eating and eating every 2 to 3 hours continue to stay on my plan and eventually the plateau just goes away

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
I’ve been trying to lose weight for 16 years and is gone up-and-down and up-and-down once I reach my goal when I was 21 years old I realize that even though on the outside I was smaller and I had reached my goal on the inside I still felt obese and really hated myself

DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
The non-scale victories are getting into a size 12 pants going to work and not eating off plan not eating any desserts all day. Drinking all the water I need to on a daily basis all of those are non-scale victories

WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I eat every 2 to 3 hours I eat only six times a day I do meal prep once a week on Sundays usually I weigh out the protein and vegetables on the scale and portion everything into Tupperware containers in the fridge I drink a lot of water and I do have two coffees a day but it’s not the sweet Starbucks type coffee either

HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I love myself more I talk to myself positively I’m able to do almost anything physically in the gym or any type of physical activity and it feels amazing I have a lot of energy I am happier and not dealing with major depression

MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS

  1. Eat every 2 to 3 hours not more than six times a day drink water water water water water
  2. Focus on what you’re putting in your body more than working out like crazy
  3. Love yourself and talk positively to yourself every day and stop believing the lies that you’ve told yourself your whole life they are not true
  4. Listen to your body and what is truly telling you and avoid emotional eating or eating because you’re lonely eating because you’re bored food is fuel !
