Find inspiration, motivation, and workout tips | Disappearing Act.........Having worked extremely hard for my career, family, and friends it became apparent after visiting my Internist that I needed to find my way of concentrating on my health. A former athlete and avid volleyball, I thought my years of looking the part was long gone.
I had struggled more than 10 years with my weight building a company, maintaining my family and dealing with my own personal struggles. Then in the middle part of May 2012 I went on a 4 day independent retreat to refocus and bring myself back to the center.
I relied heavily on my personal relationship with God to see me through. Upon my departure I made a phone call to a personal trainer who had come highly recommended by a business associate. A consultation was set up and I accepted the challenge and begin my weight loss journey the first week of June 2012.
My diet changed tremendously and my workout was specific, deliberate and lasted for 1hr each session for 3 days per week. I independently engaged in cardio 5 out of 7 days per week to expedite my weight loss. I was amazed at the results. I needed this success so much. Why? Because my entire life has always been driven to motivate other people toward change.
As a licensed Child, Adolescent, and Family Therapist and the CEO of a Behavioral Health Agency, it was important for me to practice what I preach in order to effect change.
I am thankful to God first, my personal fitness and wellness coach Anthony Bright and my family and friends. To my children I send a very strong message of how determination can change anything in your life. I have lost 67 pounds in the last 7 months.
It’s only fitting to title this DISAPPEARING ACT………… PMS1
