How I Lost It
I wrote my own weight-loss plan. I decided to create my own diet—and it worked! I read labels, counted calories and made sure I didn’t fill up on junk (I used to drink a lot of soda). It’s something I can follow for the rest of my life.
I don’t sit to watch TV. Instead of relaxing on the couch when I enjoy my shows, I jog in place and pump my arms while holding 10-pound weights. I also wear a pedometer and aim to get in 20,000 steps every day.
I celebrate my efforts. While I’ve cut back on pasta, rice and potatoes—things I used to eat every day—I always treat myself to a scoop of my favorite ice cream at night.
