How I Lost It
I distract myself with a mug of tea.
I used to snack on chips or ice cream when I read the newspaper or watched TV. Now I drink green tea with half a teaspoon of sugar and a little bit of milk. It’s relaxing without all the extra calories.
I talk myself out of eating bad foods.
When I’m about to reach for something I know is unhealthy, I yell “no” out loud. (Only when I’m at home, of course.) Just saying it helps me make smarter decisions.
I strength train.
I alternate between free weights to tone my upper body and machines — by doing both I work all my muscles and also keep from getting bored.
