My turning point was when my doctor said you are morbidly obese. I was shocked. Like what do I do. I thought omg I may not see my son turn 18 and graduate high school. It scared some sense into me. I knew I had to lose weight and get healthy ASAP.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I went to nutritionist, weight loss clinics and a personal trainer. And my last resort was baratric surgery. I needed to have my high blood pressure and pre diabetes and high cholesterol never be an issue again.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
On my pre op diet I lost 7 pounds.
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
Accountability is everything. It’s all on me. I have to exercise. I have to eat right. I have to cook healthy. I have to think about this daily.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
No I knew this was the best decision I ever made. I wished I had done this earlier in life. I regret not doing this in my younger years.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
I just reminded myself to keep working out and to keep eating healthy. Plateaus are normal.

Shopping in juniors sizes is a win win. And having energy for days now. I can run around all day.
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
Hmm drive through all day before now maybe just for coffee. I pack my food for work. I cook daily. Lots of quick simple meals.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I was a couch potato before. Now I’m up at 7 am working out.
