1. What made you decide to lose weight this time?

I was tired of being the fat kid. All my life I was a chunky kid and as I got older and started noticing the female species, the stress increased. It is hard to live a life full of restrictions because of weight. It can be the little things like taking your shirt off in public, approaching someone you like, buying new clothing, or not being able to perform physical activity. It was time to take the load off for the sake of living a healthy and normal life, and when I mean normal, I mean not being labeled “fat”.

2. What other “diets” (programs, products, plans, or services) had you tried in the past?

I never tried anything else. I always had the tendency to starve myself, which ended in me binging as much as possible and keeping bad habits.

3. What changes did you make to your usual diet, activity, lifestyle, and attitude?

I started counting calories and I stopped eating fast food. Well, I would still get some fatty food on the weekend, but I never went out of control and I always returned to the healthy food and exercise during the week. The most important aspects had to be the calorie counting and exercise during the week.

4. How did Calorie Count help you to lose weight?

Calorie Count reminded me of how far I’ve come along and how far I need to go. It’s an amazing website that offers very relevant information as well as tools that are effective in helping individuals lose weight.

5. What was most challenging about losing weight?

The greatest challenge in my weight loss journey has to be my tendency to use eating as a coping mechanism in order to drown my feelings. It only makes me feel worse, and it didn’t take me very long to figure it out. Also, the great food available during the weekends when I’m out and about is almost unavoidable.

6. How long did it take you to see results?

It took me about 2 months to start seeing results. It started with my clothes not fitting, and then the people around me started noticing my face thin out. Then finally I was able to take off my shirt when I went swimming in a pool. I never did that before so I knew things were a bit different.

7. When did you realize that you were a success?

When I did not have to wear a size 44 pants and managed to slip into size 34 jeans, I knew I was a success.

8. How do you prevent relapse?

I don’t believe in relapses. If I ate a pizza – so I ate pizza… I’ll make sure not to eat one tomorrow and make sure I hit the gym. I guess the answer would be balance.

9. How has your life changed now that you’ve lost weight?

It’s all up hill from here. My entire perspective has changed.

10. What five tips do you have for other dieters?

  • Do it for you.
  • Don’t worry about messing up. Just un-mess it up.
  • Don’t listen to people’s advice, do what works for you.
  • Use Calorie Count and all its great tools.
  • Don’t give up. Ever.
