WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
Since I was a little girl but especially after my pregnancy in 2013
HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
I tried staying away from gatherings that had people who knew me from high school because of how much weight I had gained.
WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
My whole body would ache and I could not play with my little one.
HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I looked up healthy meal plans I could start and went grocery shopping and gave away all the junk food.
HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
I was the only one in the family being healthy so food temptation was always there.
DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
All the time but I just reminded myself with motivational pictures on how far I’ve come and remember how it felt to be that heavy.
DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
I recently hit a plateau but that is another reason I started this page so I know I can’t give up!
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?

DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
I went from a size 24 almost and now I’m right in between a 16 and 18. I also got accepted into a physical therapy assistant program!
WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I would eat out a lot and would really never eat vegetables. I would eat a lot at Chinese buffets and cheap burgers.
HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I have always been active since I was little. I played volleyball, basketball, track, softball, and even powerlifting but being so heavy limited to do any of those. I began walking and trying to jog if I could no matter how slow I was. I love working out and making it fun especially with zumba! I’ll be doing my first 5K in March and I couldn’t be more excited!
MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS
- DO NOT GIVE UP! No matter how frustrated you get!
- Eating healthy is more important than working out but try and get creative ideas using healthy food instead of fattening foods like zucchini lasagna!
- Surround yourself with people who help motivate you!
- Have fun!
I have always been a big girl since high school but after my first pregnancy I had gained 75lbs. At the end of my pregnancy I weighed 350lbs but I knew I needed to change my ways and be healthier! I started changing my eating habits and workout more frequently. I just started my fitness journey on instagram because I had many people asking for my help so I really want to help push and motivate people that it is possible for anyone to lose and be healthy!
