WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
It started in my middle 30s.

HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
After having an active lifestyle all my life, I started with a more sedentary life. Gradually, year after year, I started adding pounds, and the worst part is that I really started to have less energy. My anckles, kness, started to ached, I was in a very poor condition, I felt like very fragile. I was in my middle 30s and felt like if I was 50.

WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
My two daughters were born in those years. I could not enjoy very basic activities like going to the park and play with them. I always suffered a different pain in my body.
One day the oldest one ask me way I have that belly, that she didn`t like it.
And that was the momento I realice I was not a good example for my daughters. That say I decided to start a new lifestyle

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
Y went to the gym and started as almost anyone. I tried to be persistant and not quit the first month. I really have to struggle with a very bad condition. My ligaments, tendons were not prepared for the gym.

HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
It took me almost a year to start felling really strong. And it came naturally and really fast.
Once I noticed I acomplished a good amount of muscle, I started training really more intensely. I also started to be more aware of my nutrition.
I also started to do a lot more of cardio, really trying to run faster day after day and longer distances

WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
At first lot of pains in my body. Y felt very weak in my joints.
With time I also noticed that I needed to fight with family issues. Mainly with food, because I started eaten in a way we were not used to at that moment. My new fitness lifestyle also demanded a time that I was not sharing with my wife, so that also became a problem at first.

DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
Lots of times. But I really had the will to be in a better condition. Really I was alone in the journey, so I used to buy fitness magazines, and watch youtube videos to get motivated.

DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
No, I didn`t. It was not difficult for me because I really sticked to my nutrition plan. And it worked!!

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
2 months

DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
Yes, lots of thems. But I think the one that changed my life is that people around me noticed my changes and started asking me if I could train them. So I did a Personal Trainer Certification and now I m a succesfull fitness advisor in my community

WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I really changed my nutrition drastically. From industrial food to basically more natural, non procesed food. I eat a lot less quantity. I eat fruits, vegetables, drink lot of water, I also sleep a lot better now.

HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
Drastically different. I im doing know, at my 40s, things that I used to think I was not going to be capable of doing them anymore. Like making sprints uphill for instance, or ridding a bike for an hour without suffering muscle spams, or playing with my daughters at the park and win them a race.
Those are really basic movements, but also I started with calisthenics, and I m doing things almost imposible for me at those days.
