A 100 Pound Zumba Transformation!!

Find inspiration, motivation, and workout tips | A 100 Pound Zumba Transformation!!2I started this journey on January 23, 2012 and I weighed 331 pounds at the age of 21 and knew if I didn’t do something my health would be in jeopardy further on in life. I have been heavy as far back as I could remember and turned to food whenever I was sad, happy,  and pretty much anytime.  In 2007 I suffered a horrible tragedy when one of my best friends passed away.  It really hit me hard and I turned to food for comfort during this trying time in my life.  I knew I needed to lose weight but I never knew where to start, or I would try something for a few months and give up.  So on Janurary 23, 2012 I decided to make a change, and I went to my very 1st Zumba class in my hometown and I loved it and have been doing it ever since. So a year and a month later at the age of 22 with the help of AC Zumba, Body by Vi, and portion control I have lost 12 pant sizes (went from a  size 26 jeans to a size 14 jeans and a 3XL to L T-shirt) I’ve lost 12 inches, and have lost 126lbs. The simplest things in life have become easier I don’t feel like I can’t breath when I bend over to tie my shoes, I’m not out of breath when I walk up and down the halls at work and even sleeping is easier since I don’t have all that excess weight pressing down on me. I have also gained so much from this experience and I love sharing my story with as many people as I can. I’ve made lifelong friends throughout this process, I have surrounded myself with so many positive people and it defintely shows.  This life style change has helped boost my self esteem and confidence, it has made me look at life in a more positive light, brought my smile back, and has just made me happier. I’m definitely enjoying life more than I ever used to. I think one of the keys to a successful weight loss is setting a goal and believing that you can achieve it and to surround yourself with positive and encouraging people, that has definitely been my key to success. So I hope I can bring some inspiration to anyone that is wanting to make a life style change, because in the long run it will be the best decision you will ever make in your life.

 

** Just a little update I have officially lost 132lbs and I am under 200lbs!! Hope I can inspire some of you to make a life style change, it’s totally worth it!! **
