WHEN DID YOU START DEVELOPING A WEIGHT PROBLEM?
I started developing weight problems at the age of 14.

HOW DID YOUR WEIGHT AFFECT ANY ASPECT(S) OF YOUR LIFE?
It stoped me from being able to do things my friends and family did. Being active was one of them.

WHAT WAS THE “TURNING POINT” THAT GOT YOU STARTED ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS JOURNEY?
I was just tired of being overweight and decided it was time for a change.

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?
I started to change what I ate. Then I started running everyday uphill.

HOW LONG AFTER YOU STARTED DID YOU BEGIN TO SEE RESULTS OF YOUR WEIGHT LOSS EFFORTS?
I started seeing results in about 4 months.

WHAT WAS THE HARDEST PART?
My biggest challenge was working out. It wasn’t easy at all. I would always dread it, but once I got into a routine I found it to be enjoyable.

DID YOU EVER WANT TO GIVE UP? WHAT KEPT YOU GOING?
I did plenty of times. I would workout and say how did I get myself to this weight. I then told myself you can do it look how far you’ve come.

DID YOU HIT ANY WEIGHT LOSS PLATEAUS? HOW DID YOU OVERCOME THEM?
Yes I did. I over came them by changing my diet. I changed to a low carb diet and the weight came off rapidly.

HOW LONG DID IT TAKE YOU TO LOSE MOST OF THE WEIGHT?
6 months.

DID YOU HAVE ANY NON-SCALE VICTORIES?
My biggest no scale victory are my clothes. I had this jean shirt that I loved and would always wear. I used it as my non scale victory every time I tried it on it would always become looser and looser.

WHAT DOES YOUR DAILY DIET LOOK LIKE COMPARED TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I generally eat healthy daily. Protein smoothies for breakfast because I’m always on the go. Fruits for snack and lunch and dinner are filled with lean meats and lots of veggies.

HOW DOES YOUR PHYSICAL ACTIVITY COMPARE TO WHEN YOU WERE HEAVIER?
I do insanity regularly. Other times I’m in the gym cardio and weights.

MY WEIGHT LOSS TIPS & TRICKS

  1. Try your best
  2. Never give up
  3. Always seek help and support if possible
  4. Believe in yourself
  5. It doesn’t happen overnight
